Lunch with Friends February 8

The Lunch with Friends monthly social for individuals who have lost a spouse or partner will meet Tuesday, February 8 at noon at The Village in Upper Sandusky.

Certified Grief Recovery Specialist Becky Greene hosts the luncheon and reservations can be made with her by phoning the Hospice office at 419-294-5787. The deadline for reservations is February 4.

Greene is a Licensed Social Worker and the director of social services and bereavement at Home Health and Hospice of Wyandot Memorial Hospital. She said Lunch with Friends meets the second Tuesday of each month at local restaurants to offer support and companionship. Participants purchase their own meals.

Kendra Myers (from left), Judi Kirby and Tiffany Derr presented a check for $4,000 on behalf of the Northwest Ohio Contesters (NWOC) to Wyandot Memorial Hospital’s Oncology Department to benefit patients in treatment for cancer. Donations like NWOC’s help oncology patients with a variety of needs, including gas cards for transportation to appointments and treatment, meal cards for food when unable to cook and medications not covered by insurance or other resources. Kirby noted the funds were raised at NWOC’s benefit horse show held last summer.

Wyandot Memorial Hospital is offering Pfizer COVID-19 boosters to youth ages 12 to 17.
