Neurologist Joins Wyandot Memorial Hospital
Neurologist Erika Poehm, MD, has joined the medical specialists at Wyandot Memorial Hospital
and holds weekly office hours at the Specialty Healthcare Center.
As a neurologist, Dr. Poehm specializes in disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord and nerves. Her practice includes caring for patients with headache disorders, infections of the brain and peripheral nervous system, spinal cord disorders, stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease), epilepsy and speech and language disorders. Sleep disorders and post-polio syndrome are among her special interests.
Dr. Poehm received fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, and in sleep medicine at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago. She completed a residency in neurology at Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center and served an internal medicine internship at Forest Park Hospital in St. Louis. She earned a medical degree from Semmelweis Medical University in Budapest, Hungary, and completed special training and received board certification in ophthalmology in Hungary.
Dr. Poehm is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and American Board of Sleep Medicine. She has practiced at Marshfield Clinic in both Marshfield and Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Metro Health System in Cleveland and Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, Ohio.
