Winter Weather Level 3 Wyandot Memorial Hospital

Winter Weather Level 3 Wyandot Memorial Hospital
Wyandot Memorial Hospital is prioritizing the safety of our patients, visitors, and employees during the continued severe winter weather. Due to current Level 3 Snow Emergency conditions, please review the following operational updates for Monday, January 26, 2026:

Services Closed
The following services will be closed for the day:
  • All provider offices, including Wyandot Medical Providers locations in Carey, Tarhe, Sycamore, Marion, New Riegel, and Forest
  • Lab drive-thru services
  • Non-emergent outpatient services
Patients with scheduled appointments will be contacted directly by their care teams to determine next steps and reschedule as soon as conditions allow.

UrgentCare and Retail Pharmacies
UrgentCare and retail pharmacy locations (including Carey Pharmacy and Forest Pharmacy) will be closed tomorrow morning. Conditions will be re-evaluated at 11:00 a.m., with the possibility of reopening later in the day if travel conditions improve.

Outpatient Surgeries and Infusions
All outpatient surgeries and infusion appointments scheduled for Monday have been canceled. Patients will be notified directly and rescheduled appropriately.

Emergency Department Remains Open
Our Emergency Department remains open 24/7 for emergencies during all weather conditions. We are deeply grateful to our EMS partners and first responders who continue serving the community during these difficult conditions.

Telehealth Options
When appropriate, some office visits may transition to telehealth appointments. Eligible patients will be contacted directly by office staff.

Community Warming Station
Our main campus lobby remains open as a community warming station for individuals who need a safe, warm place to get out of the cold.

We will continue providing community updates through our official communication channels, and I will do my best to keep staff informed as additional decisions are made.
If employees have questions about schedules, department operations, or expectations during the weather event, please direct them to their department head or manager for guidance.
Thank you for your flexibility, professionalism, and continued commitment to patient care. Please stay safe and use caution if travel is necessary.

On hand for the official check presentation were (from left) Oncology Director Debbie Dilley, Upper Sandusky Mayor Kyle McColly, Oncology Nurse Janet Hertel, Oncology Staff Member Sarah Hankins, Carey Fire Chief Chad Snyder, Wyandot County Sheriff Department Major Kurt Beidelschies, Lucas, Wyandot County Sheriff Todd Frey, Upper Sandusky Fire Chief Mike Maginn and Carey Chief of Police Ryan Doe.

Wyandot Memorial Hospital thanks all involved with the special event and reported the overwhelming response will enable the Oncology department to help patients currently in treatment for cancer, as well as fund a patient recliner for infusions of important cancer-fighting medications. Our patients are appreciative of the support from our community donors and the support will assist in our goal of getting new recliners in our patient treatment room.
