Adel Zaraa, MD

Psychiatrist Adel Zaraa, MD, joined the Specialty Healthcare Center at Wyandot Memorial Hospital and is available for office hours every other week via telehealth.

Patients may visit the Specialty Healthcare Center for their appointment with Dr. Zaraa via telehealth or they can opt to connect from their home. This flexibility provides ease and convenience of scheduling and attending telepsychiatry appointments.

Dr. Zaraa is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He specializes in the medical diagnosis, prevention and treatment of mental disorders, including various conditions relating to mood, behavior, cognition and perceptions. His practice is limited to the care of adults age 18 and older.

Dr. Zaraa is a senior consultant with Portage Path Behavior Health in Akron and a member of the active medical staff at Cleveland Clinic Health System. He is also a professor of clinical psychiatry at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and professor of psychiatry at Northeast Ohio Medical University. He previously held positions with Cleveland Clinic Akron General, Hamad Medical Corporation/Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar and the US Army Medical Corps.

Dr. Zaraa earned his medical degree at Semmelweis University and served an internship at the National Institute of Urology, both in Budapest, Hungary. He trained in emergency and internal medicine at Notre Dame de Secours in Byblos, Lebanon, and served a residency in psychiatry at Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy.
