JOB POSITION: Lead Sterile Processing Technician

JOB STATUS: Full-time position working 80 hours per pay. Day shift hours, may vary depending on department needs. No weekend, holiday or call responsibility.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma required. BLS Certification. Certification in sterile processing is mandatory, and either CRCST or CSPDT is required. Must exemplify a strong initiative and enthusiasm for the position, including a professional demeanor in appearance and ability to communicate effectively, be an independent thinker, calm under pressure, and a customer service leader.

JOB DUTIES: Oversees daily operations, ensuring the efficient sterilization, handling, and distribution of surgical instruments while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities include supervising SPD staff, conducting regular audits, managing inventory, and performing inspections of sterilization equipment. Ensures the proper decontamination, sterilization, and storage of instruments, while maintaining accurate records for compliance. Collaborate with operating room staff to ensure instrument availability, address workflow issues, and provide staff training on sterilization techniques and safety protocols to improve department efficiency.
