DEPARTMENT: Laboratory

JOB POSITION: Lab Assistant

JOB STATUS: Part-time position working approximately 48 hours per two-week pay period.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Phlebotomy experience, medical terminology, and/or prior health care experience preferred. Must be able to perform waived testing and assist with culture set up. Must be able to multi-task in a busy and fast-paced clinical environment. Above average computer skills required. May include some general clerical duties. Excellent interpersonal and intrapersonal, oral and written communication skills required. Valid Ohio Driver’s License and good driving record preferred. Must possess good organizational and prioritization abilities despite high stress factors and be a customer service leader. Dependability is an absolute must.

JOB DUTIES: Performs waived testing, culture set up, and hospital phlebotomy services. May go outside the hospital to draw specimens from patients of local nursing homes and/or ancillary physician offices. Will perform a number of clerical duties. May provide courier services for taking drawn specimens to different facilities.
