Have you been recently diagnosed with diabetes or experiencing challenges in managing your diabetes? Living with Diabetes can help.
The Wellness Center at Wyandot Memorial Hospital is offering its Living with Diabetes course to diabetics and their support persons on Thursday, February 17 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants will meet in the Oncology Education Room on the second floor of the hospital and lunch will be provided.
Living with Diabetes is a multi-disciplinary approach to disease management, which includes sessions with a nurse, exercise physiologist, dietitian and pharmacist. The course helps participants improve self-management of blood sugars through education, diet, exercise and medication. Wellness Center Nurse April Manns will also discuss new testing and medication options available.
The cost for Living with Diabetes is billed directly to Medicare or other insurers with a physician order. To register for the course or for more information, call the Wellness Center by phoning 419-294-4991, extension 2236 or email amanns@wyandotmemorial.org. The registration deadline is February 10.
