JOB POSITION: Surgical Tech or Scrub Nurse

JOB STATUS:Contingent position working approximately 8 hours per two week pay period.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Nurses must have an active Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license. If Surgical Tech, must be a graduate from an accredited surgical technology program or commensurate experience. Prior experience is required for Licensed Practical Nurses to be eligible for consideration. BLS Certification is required. Previous OR experience is strongly preferred.  Must exemplify a strong initiative and enthusiasm for the position, including a professional demeanor in appearance and ability to communicate effectively, be an independent thinker, calm under pressure, and a customer service leader.

JOB DUTIES: Must be competent in management of supply inventories, surgical equipment, operating room suite readiness and direct clinical and technical assistance to the surgeon while performing operative and invasive procedures. This position requires an expanded knowledge of surgical instrumentation, surgical techniques, human anatomy, surgical retracting, and wound closure.
