JOB POSITION: Revenue Cycle Representative III

JOB STATUS: Full-time position working 80 hours per two week pay period.  Shift responsibility:  Flexible day shift.  Working 80 hours per pay period. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:High school graduate or equivalent. Certification from AAPC or AHIMA or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire date. Understanding of insurance billing for hospital services with Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial insurances strongly preferred. Experience in medical terminology and medical coding a plus. Must possess excellent computer, office, and math skills and have a firm understanding of the medical billing process including Explanation of Benefits from insurances, denial management, and ability to complete appeals. Must be able to read and follow written and oral instructions and be capable of working well with the public on a professional and confidential basis. Must be attentive to detail and accuracy. Hospital billing experience preferred. Epic experience preferred.

JOB DUTIES: Releases bills, works denials, and performs appeals. Maintains compliance with the payer reimbursement policies and Federal Health Care program requirements. Interacts professionally with patients and providers regarding documentation policies and procedures. Reviews claims for accuracy, prepares billing records requested by patients, other departments, and other healthcare providers for release. Answers telephone and manages messages and requests. Must be a strong communicator with a focus on confidentiality, quality of work and customer satisfaction. Other duties as needed.
