DEPARTMENT: LABORATORY

JOB POSITION: PHLEBOTOMIST

JOB STATUS: Contingent position working approximately 8 hours per two week pay period.\ MONDAY – FRIDAY with weekend and holiday responsibility. Day shift, varying hours.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Phlebotomy, medical terminology and/or prior health care experience preferred. Must be able to multi-task in a busy and fast-paced clinical environment. Above average computer skills required. May include some general clerical duties. Excellent interpersonal and intrapersonal, oral and written communications skills required. Valid Ohio Driver’s License and good driving record. Must possess good organizational and prioritization abilities despite high stress factors and be a customer service leader. Dependability is an absolute must.

JOB DUTIES: Performs hospital phlebotomy services and goes outside the hospital to draw specimens from patients of local nursing homes and/or ancillary physician offices. May perform receptionist/secretarial-type duties for the department on occasion. May provide courier services of taking drawn specimens to different facilities.
