DEPARTMENT: Emergency Department
JOB POSITION: Paramedic
JOB STATUS: Contingent position working approx. 24 hours per two-week pay period, based in the Emergency Department. Primary shift is 10:45 AM – 11:15 PM. Shifts vary occasionally. Weekend and holiday responsibility.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Current certification by the State of Ohio as an EMT – Paramedic. Minimum one year of experience as a Paramedic. Current certification in BLS and ACLS. Must obtain PALS and NRP once hired. Must have a good working knowledge of EKG machines, Glucometers, vital sign monitoring equipment, and general office equipment, and procedures, including computers, word processing skills, keyboarding, typing, filing, copiers, fax machines, and telephone equipment, VHF/other radio, TDD telephone, etc. Must exemplify a strong initiative and enthusiasm for the position including a professional demeanor in appearance and the ability to communicate, be an independent thinker and be a customer service leader
JOB DUTIES: Performs direct patient care duties under the direction of a Physician and assigned by a Registered Nurse. Performs administrative, clerical, and clinical duties as assigned. Complies with policies and procedures of Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Always maintains patient safety and patient confidentiality. Maintains accurate and timely documentation of care that reflects the patient’s condition, treatment, and response to care.
