JOB POSITION:
NURSE PRACTITIONER/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT
JOB STATUS:
Full Time working 80 hours per pay.
VACCINATION STATUS:
Employment is contingent upon being fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or willingness to become vaccinated.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant Program and currently licensed by State Board of Nursing or State Medical Board to perform medical acts. Because of the nature of responsibilities, it is preferable to have experience in a hospital setting; however, training will be provided. Experience in counseling and teaching a plus. Must be willing to work with flexible scheduling needs and be willing to accommodate physician schedules for vacation/time off and call-offs. Must be willing to work in an on-call capacity.
JOB DUTIES:
Under the general supervision of a physician, plans, directs, and evaluates patients in the Specialty Healthcare Department/NCCC/ in a hospital and/or various care settings. Examines and treats patients needing care. Orders/performs diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures as applicable, refers to physicians as needed, writes prescriptions, and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment. Follows established standards, procedures and practices and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other ancillary staff. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to deal with people professionally in a variety of situations.
