JOB POSITION:
LICENSED ATHLETIC TRAINER
JOB STATUS:
Part-time position working flexible hours (includes weekend work), approximately 48 hours per two-week pay period.
LOCATION:
Primarily at New Riegel High School and will help with covering other schools as well. To be further discussed with applicant at time of interview.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. Certification by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification, Inc. (NATABOC). Must be licensed within the State of Ohio to practice as an Athletic Trainer. Current CPR and ACLS certification. Prefer two years recent/relevant experience or relevant clinical experience. Ability to demonstrate training routines, use of exercise equipment, knowledgeable of injury prevention, and provision of providing immediate care, treatment, and rehabilitation after athletic trauma. Demonstrated ability to perform necessary skills and competencies. Must work within a comprehensive health care team and be committed to a healthy lifestyle as a model for participants and staff. Excellent computer, oral and written communication skills.
JOB DUTIES:
The Athletic Trainer assists athlete in achieving their optimum sports performances by recommending and monitoring proper training routines, preventing injuries, and providing immediate care, treatment, and rehabilitation after athletic trauma. Is responsible for assisting the hospital Therapy Department (when needed). Assists as needed with maintenance of exercise equipment, health education presentations, assists with physical and occupational therapy treatments and operational aspects of the PT and OT departments as directed and supervised by a licensed physical therapist, and coordinating recreational or community outreach programs as directed. Will assist as needed in Wellness related activities. Must exhibit a positive attitude, be a customer service leader, able to work independently and in a team environment.
