Housekeeping Aide

Full Time | Second Shift

DEPARTMENT: ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

JOB POSITION: HOUSEKEEPING AIDE

JOB STATUS: Full-time position.  Shift responsibility: 2:00PM-10:30PM Monday through Friday, with weekend and holiday rotation.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High School education preferred. Ability to speak, read, and write English, have basic math skills, and be able to follow oral and written directions. Must have the physical dexterity to meet the requirements of the position and be able to operate common housecleaning devices, run floor cleaning equipment, and have a basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their hazards. Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and retain work processes. Background in hospital cleaning techniques preferred but can train. Prefer previous experience in floor care. Must have strong communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and confidentiality and exhibit professionalism, personal integrity, must have an excellent attendance record, and the ability to work well with others.

JOB DUTIES: General housekeeping and floor care duties which includes stripping, refinishing and buffing floors using buffing machine. Performs simple repetitive tasks in maintaining an assigned area of the hospital in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition. Sorts, folds, mends and distributes clean linen. Stocks linen closets and supply carts. Weighs both clean and soiled linen. Keeps accurate count of linen weights and stock levels. Retrieves soiled linen and prepares it for pickup by laundry service.
