General Maintenance Worker – Full Time

JOB POSITION:
GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER
JOB STATUS:
Full-time position. 80 hours per pay. Day shift position working 8a-4:30p. Includes call, weekend, overtime, and holiday hours.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent. Trade, technical or vocational training desired. Minimum of 2-5 years on-the-job maintenance experience preferred. Must be able to meet the physical demands necessitated by the position. Working knowledge of heating, air-conditioning, spot, and central systems preferred. Basic working knowledge of electrical equipment and systems, mechanical repair, fire alarm and signal systems, use of and maintenance of plant tools, power tools and equipment, ability to perform carpentry repairs, routine plumbing repairs and to read blueprints, schematic diagrams and interpret instructions. Must be able to speak write and read the English language in order to follow directions and assemble equipment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Basic keyboarding and computer knowledge. Valid Ohio Driver’s License and good driving record.
JOB DUTIES:
Assist in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the hospital in good repair. Minor electrical work and wiring, mechanical repairs, carpentry, plumbing, equipment and furniture assembly, painting, wallpapering, conduct testing of electrical circuits, lighting systems, fire alarms, and emergency generator testing. Assist with maintenance of routine records of all inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or systems, troubleshoot equipment not working properly and repair accordingly, assists hospital departments with general requests for moving heavy objects, including equipment and office furniture, provide general assistance during hospital emergency situations, provides backup courier service for clinical and other departments as needed, assist with the delivery of equipment, supplies and related materials for the set-up and break-down of hospital’s special events, and participate in routine preventive maintenance processes/duties on facility equipment and associated controls and systems, including H.V.A.C. controls and associated equipment, physical structures as necessary to meet compliance with all building safety codes. Assists with unloading of deliveries as needed. Performs urgent/unscheduled maintenance as needed. Assist with lawn care, snow removal and sidewalk maintenance with the season. Other duties as assigned.
