Contingent Linen Aid
DEPARTMENT: ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
JOB POSITION: LINEN AIDE
JOB STATUS:
Contingent position. 1st Shift 6:00am – 2:30pm, weekend and holiday responsibility, approximately 16 hours per two-week pay period.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High School education preferred. Ability to speak, read, and write English, have basic math skills, and be able to follow oral and written directions. Must have strong
communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and confidentiality and exhibit professionalism, personal integrity, and the ability to work well with others.
Physical requirements may include climbing, stooping, balancing, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying up to 20 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 350 pounds.
JOB DUTIES:
Sorts, folds, mends, and distributes clean linen. Press/iron garments as instructed or needed. Stocks linen closets and supply carts. Weighs both clean and soiled linen.
Keeps accurate count of linen weights and stock levels. Retrieves soiled linen and prepares it for pickup by laundry service. Keeps department director informed of
linen or supply needs.
