DEPARTMENT: Surgery

JOB POSITION: Certified Scrub Technician, Scrub RN, or Certified Surgical First Assistant

JOB STATUS: Full-time position. 80 hours per pay period. Shift Responsibility: Flexible day shift. On-Call responsibility.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate from accredited surgical technology program or commensurate experience. BLS Certification. Previous OR experience strongly preferred. Must exemplify a strong initiative and enthusiasm for the position, including a professional demeanor in appearance and ability to communicate effectively, be an independent thinker, calm under pressure, and a customer service leader.

JOB DUTIES: Must be competent in management of supply inventories, surgical equipment, operating room suite readiness and direct clinical and technical assistance to the surgeon while performing operative and invasive procedures. This position requires an expanded knowledge of surgical instrumentation, surgical techniques, human anatomy, surgical retracting, and wound closure.
