Hospital Adding CareCredit as Financing Option

Hospital

Patients in need of financing options for paying their doctor or hospital bill at Wyandot Memorial can now apply online for a CareCredit credit card.

The service may help individuals make decisions about treatment options, as it is a way to pay for medical costs and enables cardholders to make convenient monthly payments.

“CareCredit provides financial choices so you can get the care you want and need, right when you need it, without having to delay treatment or appointments,” explained Judy Keller, WMH’s Revenue Cycle Administrator who oversees the hospital’s registration, coding and billing functions.

She noted CareCredit can be used repeatedly within the approved amount without reapplying, and some applicants may qualify for interest-free financing for up to 18 months.

“CareCredit helps take care of outstanding medical bills quickly and securely,” Keller emphasized. “You can use CareCredit to pay online for yourself or your friends or family.”

The hospital has been investigating financing options, according to Keller, and selected CareCredit for its 30-plus years of experience and reputation for security. The company also provides extensive training to in-hospital financial counselors to ensure that every CareCredit card applicant is given a clear, easy-to-understand explanation of financing options available.

“Our financial counselor can assist individuals in applying,” Keller added, “and the application process can also be done online or via telephone.”

CareCredit’s online application link is featured on the homepage of the hospital’s website at www.wyandotmemorial.org under the Bill Pay button. The toll-free number for phone applications is 800-677-0718. There is an automated system available at that phone number 24/7, or a live agent can be reached weekdays from 9 a.m. to 9 pm. Applicants must be at least 21 years to apply by phone, and all applicants must have a written copy of the credit card agreement before proceeding, which can be printed from carecredit.com. The hospital’s financial counselor offers printed copies of the credit card agreement, too.
