Free Breast Health Screenings October 21

Women are invited to participate in free clinical breast exams at Wyandot Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, October 21 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The free exams will be provided by one of WMH’s women’s healthcare providers at their offices in Suite H on the lower level of the hospital. No appointments are needed for the screenings, so women may walk in at their convenience.

“The clinical breast exam is an essential tool in finding breast cancer early,” noted Women’s Health Navigator Brittany Thiel, RN.

Thiel said all participants in the clinical breast exams on the 21st will be entered into a drawing for a gift basket. She organized the screenings in recognition of breast cancer awareness month in October and emphasized the importance of early detection.

“If breast cancer is found early and treated when it’s small and in its earliest stage, the chance for successful treatment is greatest,” Thiel added.
