Wyandot Memorial Hospital Oncology Nurse Brittany Schilling presented two tickets to see country musician John Michael Montgomery to Charles Steward of Upper Sandusky. Health Services of Wyandot County donated the tickets for the hospital’s cancer survivor event.

Wyandot Memorial Hospital Oncology Director Scott Gier awarded the survivor event grand prize gift basket to winner Bob Gucker of McCutchenville. The prize was donated by Onco360 Specialty Pharmacy.

Wyandot Memorial Hospital oncology patients and their families recently joined Dr. Tejas Lodhawala and the oncology staff to “Give Cancer the Boot” during the 3rd annual survivorship event. More than 200 guests enjoyed an afternoon of old-fashioned country and western fun with several Wyandot County 4-H camp counselors demonstrating line dances and teaching oncology team members a few steps.

Oncology Director Scott Gier noted the special event celebrates cancer survivors and gives them an opportunity to join in a fun, positive atmosphere. In addition to enjoying the line dancing demonstration and refreshments, patients and families took pictures at the western-themed photo booth and created keepsake ornaments. Prizes donated by oncology supply partners and area businesses were awarded, too.
