Hospital

The Wyandot County Prostate Cancer Support Group donated $300 to the Wellness Center at Wyandot Memorial Hospital for the purchase of weight scales to be given to patients that have completed cardiac rehabilitation for congestive heart failure (CHF).

Support group members Tom Eyestone (seated from left), Manfred Hanke (holding one of the scales purchased) and Paul Grygier presented the donation to WMH staff members Ty Shaull (standing from left), Meagan Weinandy, April Manns and Dr. Byron Morales.

Dr. Morales noted the scales are an important tool in managing CHF, as sudden weight gain may indicate the body is retaining fluid and signal the chronic disease is not in good control.

The Wellness Center offers cardiac and pulmonary rehab programs, as well as diabetic education, dietitian consultations and comprehensive weight management and exercise programs.

The Wyandot County Prostate Cancer Support Group is a locally-organized support group for men of all ages that meets every other month for special speakers and discussions on topics of interest.
