Tammy Groves of Upper Sandusky has been promoted to senior director of human resources at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.

Groves is responsible for all aspects of personnel management, including the new hire employment process and wage and salary administration. She coordinates staff performance reviews, and assists with orientation, retention and discipline. She also manages the human resource generalist, makes assignments to the communications secretary and oversees the hospital’s volunteer program.

In addition to HR duties, Groves serves as the hospital’s representative to the Wyandot County Safety Council and Wyandot Employment Task Force.

Groves previously spent more than four years in the HR department at WMH, and eight years in HR at Sypris Technologies in Marion, where she was the manager for one of those years and also handled Workers’ Compensation claims. Other job experiences were gained as a dispatcher at S & P Alliance and office manager at Renaissance West Salon.

Groves earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. She also has an associate degree of applied business from Marion Technical College with a concentration in data processing technology, and an associate degree of business from MTC with the management and human resource option.

The rural Nevada native currently serves as the Exalted Ruler at BPOE #83, and previously held the offices of Lecturing Knight, Loyal Knight and Leading Knight. She spends her leisure time reading, trying new restaurants, relaxing on the beach and enjoying friends and family, including her three grandsons.
