Sheps Named Hospitalist Medical Director


Dan Sheps, DO, has been named the medical director of the hospitalist service at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Sheps directs the medical care of inpatients in the medical/surgical and intensive/critical care nursing units. He and his team of hospitalists have extensive experience and training in managing the complex care of acutely ill hospitalized patients.

Dr. Sheps previously served as the hospitalist program director for Premier Health Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Ohio, where he led initiatives for patient satisfaction and safety. He also worked as the lead hospitalist and medical director of the intensive care unit at CHI St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson, North Dakota.

Other work experience includes roles as a residential program counselor for Convenant Healthcare in Knoxville, Tennessee; supplemental instruction leader and tutor in the chemistry department at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington; and aquatic rescue professional for Disney Cruise Line.

Dr. Sheps earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. He completed the Seton Hall University Internal Medicine Residency at Saint Michaels Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Dr. Sheps is board certified in internal medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists. His professional interests include healthcare quality, high value cost-conscious medical care and medical relief work. In his leisure time, he enjoys travel photography, running, reading, triathlons and downhill skiing.
