Craig Eldridge, MD, JD, is joining the medical staff at Wyandot Memorial Hospital to accept responsibility for the medical practice of Dr. Byron Morales as he transitions to Medical Affairs Director.

Dr. Eldridge is very familiar with Upper Sandusky, as he was born and raised in Willard and played sports against USHS in the days of the NOL.

He played football at John Carroll University in Cleveland, where he received a bachelor’s degree in English. He graduated from the Ohio State University College of Law and worked as a Cuyahoga County Prosecutor and the Senior City Prosecutor for Parma.

After 13 years in the practice of law, Dr. Eldridge changed careers and returned to OSU for medical school. He completed the joint program offered by the OSU College of Medicine and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and served an internship at Fairview/Cleveland Clinic. He completed his family medicine residency at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland and has worked as a family practitioner at Mercy Health, University Hospitals and the Erie County Health Department. He also has experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, wound care and corrections medicine.

“Two of my physician friends suggested I consider WMH,” Dr. Eldridge said of his learning about this opportunity at Wyandot Memorial.

“When I visited, I was impressed by the technology, service offerings and number of specialists,” he noted. “You cannot find that in community hospitals in the Cleveland area.”

Dr. Eldridge also appreciated the patient-centered environment.

“I really connected to the people at Wyandot and it reminded me of home,” he added.

Dr. Eldridge is board certified in family practice and cares for patients of all ages. He will assist Dr. Morales in transitioning care of patients and will also accept new patients.

Dr. Eldridge’s office is on the first floor of the hospital near the main entrance. For more information or appointments with Dr. Eldridge, contact his office at 419-294-1525.
