DEPARTMENT: MEDSURG

JOB POSITION: PATIENT CARE ASSISTANT

JOB STATUS: Full Time position working 72 hours per two-week pay period. Primary shift responsibility will be 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM and may work a combination of 12- hour and 8-hour shifts. Includes weekend and holiday responsibility.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate. Hospital background and departmental experience preferred. Must exemplify a strong initiative and enthusiasm for the position including a professional demeanor in appearance and the ability to communicate, be an independent thinker and be a customer service leader.

JOB DUTIES: Performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of our patients. Must be able to use a systematic approach to assess patient needs and work with the nursing and ancillary staff to provide a unified and seamless approach to care delivery. This position is responsible for adhering to all standards assigned and for promoting teamwork
