JOB POSITION: Mental Health Counselor

JOB STATUS: (2) Full-Time positions working day shift hours, Monday through Friday, approximately 80 hours per two-week pay period. Weekend and call responsibility.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s degree in psychology, Master’s degree in Social Work (LISW), or Master’s degree in Licensed Professional Counselor/Clinical Resident (LPCC) are necessary qualifications for this position. In addition, candidates must possess the appropriate state credentials and licensing to be considered for the role. Tact and diplomacy are required for contacts with people under stressful conditions. Ability to make decisions based on the urgency of the situation. Ability to work independently with little direction. EMDR experience preferred.

JOB DUTIES: Work closely with clients and patients, both individually and in group settings, providing support to help them overcome dependencies, adapt to life changes, and achieve personal growth. Upholding the utmost confidentiality, assist individuals in developing coping skills and strategies to address their challenges, while encouraging open communication and self-reflection. Engage in interviews, observations, and assessments, counselors gather essential information to personalize treatment plans. Keeping meticulous records of clients’ progress and relevant reports, continuously evaluating clients’ well-being, and adjusting approaches accordingly. Serve as advocate, ensuring clients receive necessary services and support during crises.
