Hickory Grove Golf Club in Harpster is hosting the Craig Bowman Memorial Tournament on Sunday, August 28.

The event is the 21st annual golf scramble to benefit Wyandot Memorial Hospital, and is named in Bowman’s memory for his service on the hospital’s Board of Governors and support of its mission.

Scramble proceeds are earmarked for the hospital’s addition and renovation project, which includes the relocation and expansion of the Emergency Department, consolidation of outpatient services and privacy improvements for patients.

The golf scramble begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m., and features a men's division and a women's division. Prizes valued at $1,600 (based on 36 teams) will be awarded, along with proximity prizes and special contests.

Each team of 4 players must have a combined handicap of 36 or more with only one player having a 7 or less handicap. In response to requests received in recent years, men 60 and older may play the senior tees.

The entry fee of $65 for each player includes green fees, cart and lunch. Entry forms for the scramble are available at Hickory Grove, area golf course pro shops and the hospital.

The scramble is limited to the first 36 teams paid in full by August 21. For more details, contact René Sherman, Business Development and Support Specialist at Wyandot Memorial, by phoning 419-294-4991, extension 2125, or emailing rsherman@wyandotmemorial.org.
