“Kick the Winter Blues” will be presented on Monday, January 29 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
The panel discussion features several speakers, including Pharmacy Director Scott Gier, who will review symptoms of the winter blues and use of natural remedies and over-the-counter medications. Dietitian Michele Muzilla will explain the effect food has on our moods, and how a nutrient-based diet can increase positive feelings. Exercise Physiologist Fortune Bormuth will describe physical and mental exercises that are proven to lift your spirits.
“Now that the holidays are over and we have been experiencing several weeks of bitterly cold weather, this can cause many of us to experience some signs of seasonal affective disorder,” Gier noted. “We’ll share valuable strategies to help alleviate these symptoms.”
Gier said the panel discussion will offer participants the opportunity to hear the latest methods to manage the winter blues, as well as to learn about resources that are available at WMH to promote long term success.
