Wyandot Memorial Hospital Guild officers (from left) Judy Swartz, Sandy Hemmerly and Bev Wheeler were shown the new furnishings in patient rooms by Director of Nursing Marty Gray and CEO Joe D’Ettorre.
The Guild donated $23,600 to help with the purchase of chairs, rockers and recliners for the soon-to-be-completed renovations to patient rooms in the Medical/Surgical Nursing Unit, Intensive/Coronary Care Unit and Outpatient Surgery Suite. Gray noted the furnishings selected by therapy and nursing staffs are specifically designed to meet patients’ needs and comfort as they heal and recover from surgery, injury and illness.
According to D’Ettorre, the patient room renovation project included the enlargement of six patient rooms to better accommodate new technology and treatment and therapy needs of patients. All rooms are receiving new flooring, wall coverings and fixtures, he added.
The Guild raised the funds for their donation from membership dues, county fair bazaar booth receipts and silent auction proceeds.
