For a number of years, Wyandot Memorial Hospital has partnered with other community organizations as part of the Wyandot County Health Alliance to assess and address county-specific health and wellness issues.

The most recent Community Health Needs Assessment identifies a number of key issues including the following:
  • Heart Disease
  • Arthritis
  • Diabetes

According to the survey, heart disease is the leading cause of death among area adults; in fact, it accounted for 30% of all deaths. Additionally, 30% of adults have received a diagnosis of arthritis from their healthcare providers. Clearly, arthritis - in various forms - is of major concern for area residents. And, diabetes was the fourth leading cause of death in Wyandot County in 2002, as noted in the most recent Community Health Assessment.

Wyandot Memorial Hospital encourages patients, family, and friends to learn more about these diseases.

As part of its mission to the community, the hospital also offers targeted education, rehabilitation, and outreach programs for patients and their families and friends. Please contact the wellness center at 419-294-4991, extension 2236 for additional information on cardiac, diabetes, and arthritis programs.
